Nurseries News Round-Up – Week 19

Your weekly round-up of news from around our wonderful Golden Apples Family nurseries is here!

Bluebell, Eltisley

We got ready for Independence Day in Preschool using pegs and pom-poms. We dipped in the matching colour paint, created dots on the silver card and turned them into Independence stars!

The children also worked on their fine motor skills when the pom-pom came off the peg – they had to reattach it without touching the pom-pom. Great effort, kids!

Golden Apples, Haverhill

On warm sunny days, there’s only one thing for it – water play! The children dipped their little toes into the cool water in a tuff tray then found out that when they stepped onto the paving slabs, they left behind paw prints.

This soon turned into hand and footprints, moving like animals and making self-portraits using brushes to paint the water on the pavement.

The Appletree, Attleborough

International Mud Day took centre stage at the Appletree – and what a success it was! The children had a wonderful time playing, exploring and generally getting very wet and messy.

Messy play is great for their development in so many ways – both physically and emotionally.

Head Start, Ramsey

The children at Head Start learned all about bugs and insects. They thoroughly enjoyed all the activities and were keen to ask lots of questions, leading to further enquiry and curiosity about the natural environment.

All the children enjoyed looking and listening to our book of the week (What The Ladybird Heard) so much so that we have decided to continue with the book and theme!
